Biography (Željko Joksimović)

Željko Joksimović (Serbian: Жељко Јоксимовић, born April 20, 1972 in Belgrade) is one of the most popular singers and composers of Serbia, but is also well-known in Europe. He represented Serbia & Montenegro in the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Lane moje”, which finished 2nd behind Ukrainian singer Ruslana.

The years of growing up and education bond him with Valjevo, a place from where he went to test himself in the world of music, and where he always returned as a winner. He started being involved in music very early. He won his first prize as "First Accordion of Europe" at the age of 12 on the prestigious music festival in Paris, France. Željko is one of few musicians that can play more than 14 musical instruments.
